During Liberia and Sierra Leone’s decade-long civil war, children faced particular brutality. The war left tens of thousands dead and caused more than one million children to be without parents or homes. Today, thousands of traumatized refugee children face extraordinary difficulties as they return home to rebuild their lives.

As part of our efforts, GWI would like to thank everybody who participated in donating school supplies, uniforms, textbooks, tuition fees, money, and other educational materials, which provide the young refugee children of Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea with excellent learning opportunities. One of Global Women Intact’s missions is to inspire and empower the young and underprivileged refugee children to realize their full potential and embrace education in their communities through participation in reading and writing.
